Shubh Muhurat Finder

A muhurat is a time chosen because the sky is favourable for what you are about to begin. Pick your town and a range of dates and Astromaan lists the days that pass the traditional checks: a good tithi and nakshatra, no Rahu Kaal in the main window, and none of the days avoided for weddings.

For a wedding you can also add the bride's and groom's birth details so the dates are checked against both charts. Times are worked out for your own town, so sunrise-based windows are right for where you live.

How do I find a shubh muhurat for marriage?

Pick your town and the months you are considering. Astromaan lists dates where the tithi, nakshatra and weekday are suitable and avoids Rahu Kaal. Add both birth details to check against the two charts.

What is Rahu Kaal?

Rahu Kaal is a daily window of about 90 minutes, ruled by Rahu, that is traditionally avoided for starting anything new. Its time changes with the weekday and with sunrise and sunset in your town.

Are muhurats the same everywhere in India?

No. Sunrise and sunset differ by town, and so do the windows built on them, which is why Astromaan asks for your town.
